Day 2 – Grounding in Nature

Today I decided to step outside, soak in some sunshine, and connect with the earth. I wanted to ground myself literally and figuratively. I took my shoes off, let my bare feet touch the grass, and just stood there for a while. I closed my eyes, felt the breeze, and let the sun wrap around me. I was also hoping that I could even out this tan that I got from the beach a couple of weeks ago. So there were other motives. lol

While the sun was hitting my skin, I said to myself that I am safe, I am loved, and I am grateful for all things. I believe that nature is the closest thing to being in God’s presence. You can feel the energy of everything if you really focus. But that’s a topic for another day.

Benefits of Grounding & Sunlight

  • Balances the nervous system – direct contact with the earth may help regulate stress responses.
  • Boosts mood – sunlight helps increase serotonin levels, which can improve emotional well-being.
  • Supports Vitamin D production – essential for bone health, immune function, and mood regulation.
  • Reduces inflammation – grounding may lower oxidative stress in the body.
  • Promotes mindfulness – nature naturally slows you down and helps you stay present.

My goal is to do this every day, or at least a few times a week. I desire to get closer to nature and experience its true beauty. I’m not a big fan of bugs, and dirt makes me itch, but we will see how this goes. lol
