Taking Time Alone

Being alone can be a good or bad thing. It’s often mistaken as loneliness. That is something completely different. More of a feeling than an environment or mind frame. When we talk about alone time, it is referring to quietness. It is the silent state of mind where you can relax and reflect. Get away from the busyness of the world and come back to you. This is a process that is good for the SOUL. Why? It is the best way to hear from God, learn from him, and communicate with him. He wants nothing more than to spend time with his creation. By taking time alone and away from the noise, you can fulfill his desires as well as yours.

Countless times the bible stresses the importance of spending quality time with God. These scriptures instruct us that doing so is a blessing. It gives us an opportunity to be transformed and renewed so that we can know and understand God’s will.

Romans 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this world,  but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.“

Think of it as a way to take care of the soul. Spend time with the Holy Spirit and listen to it speak. Release what has been on your heart and seek the Lord for understanding. Go to him in alone time. He is a part of you and will fix any situation you bring to him.

Philippians 2:2  complete my joy by being  of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.

Become one with God! That may sound silly to some, but it is a real statement. Think of him consciously and allow him to make your quiet time a bonding experience.

Use this opportunity to know the word of God. By knowing his word you can declare it over your life and experience his presence in new ways.

Do not waste this time by going on social media, doing work, or filling your mind with worries. Quiet time alone is meant to refresh and renew your mind, body, and soul. Get away from everything and everyone!

What many don’t realize is that alone time is good for your body. It takes away that stress and negativity that may be built up within. You know that feeling after a good workout or long well-needed nap? That’s what you are aiming for. Rejuvenation in a sense. Not releasing it can cause illness, body aches, a poor attitude, and many things can come from that. Allow it to escape in a way that you can feel comfortable. This can be done many ways. You can go to a quiet place, go for a walk, read your bible or meditate on scripture, spend time in your prayer closet, or just go for a drive. Even laying in bed or taking a relaxing bath can be an opportunity for alone time. Take advantage of it and give your mind, body, and soul a break from the world.
